Is anything of yours at my house for "safe keeping"?

If so, you'd best ask for it back as I'm in major MAJOR purge mode. (Fortunately there's only a few of you that could apply to.) It started earlier in the week and since then I've given away half my stash (ahem, yarn stash. no fabric has left the house) as well as a pile of pattern books I know I'll never use. I carted off three HUGE bags of mysteries, sci fi and random other fiction to the used bookstore this morning. Goodwill has gotten another six bags of clothes out of me (where do they all come from? i swear they multiply like rabbits behind closed doors). And I just decluttered the "coat" closet as well. You might think I was busy getting ready for a move cross country like some people. But no, I'm just avoiding doing any quilting, knitting, reading, writing, piano-ing, etc. It's either a) wander aimlessly around the house feeling bored and cooped up and STIR CRAZY or b) THROW A LOT OF SHIT OUT. So far B is winning by a landslide, although A did manage to steal a few of this morning's hours.

In other exciting weekend news, I MET JEN GARRETT yesterday. Probably the blogger I have gone the longest knowing but not "knowing" as I've been following her adventures for I swear years now. I met JR as well and he wrote up the sweetest blog post anyone's ever written about me. Seriously. I feel like a fucking superhero now, y'all. p.s. I HAD A GREAT TIME TOO! :)

Yes, Mariko, I took pictures of THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH IN THE WORLD. I'll get them up on flickr sometime before I go to bed tonight. If I ever wind up there as this purging frenzy has my adrenaline at top speed right now...

I need a shot of your purge adrenaline. I'm starting to flag.

Purging is really good for your soul. When my in-laws moved to Las Vegas all they took was their car, their vacuum cleaner and some clothes. I wish I had purged a lot more when we moved.

Dude. If you end up getting rid of more than I do, you're going to make me look really bad. Please wait until we've moved to get rid of any large pieces of furniture. Thanks.

I definitely need to purge...b/c I definitely don't want to move all this crap across the country. And if you have any more yarn or pattern books to get rid of lemme know.

Wait, didn't I say I was going to trim down my possessions??

I should do that! How much stash is left?

New carpet in the bedroom last Thursday = purge time for me, too, but not so major as yours. Go, team!

I am jealous of your purging ability. I didn't get through a single pile of clothes this weekend. Just left it all out to be all in the way for another week.
