Hello my life is a rollercoaster.
Tuesday I got the *pleasure* we'll call it (#NOT!!!!) of informing the kids of what was happening. It did not go over well. Wednesday was a half day for CPS students and at noon I said goodbye to my kids for good.
Thursday morning I went on an interview at a school that just GAINED two positions on the 20th day due to high enrollment (versus my school losing me due to low enrollment).
I got lost getting off the bus in a neighborhood I don't know and was 10 minutes late. I came in flustered and tired and felt like I rambled like a maniac. They said they were interviewing more people the next day but would make a decision before the week-end. Nope, they decided faster than that! THEY CALLED ME JUST A FEW HOURS LATER AND OFFERED ME THE JOB! What?!?!
It has all happened so fast, I feel like I'm in an episode of the Twilight Zone. I will be teaching fifth grade in a co-teaching situation (two equal teachers in a room with 40 students). I start tomorrow.
Pretty amazed and lucky that I only had to have two days of unemployment between these two positions. There will be some weirdness as they are a track E school vs track R (different school year layout) so I will randomly have next week (Oct 22-26) off and I *might* not get paid for it as my deferred pay was being taken out on a track R schedule (long, boring story) but I will also have more time off at Christmas so...
Anyway, I'm trying to put my Natural Disaster Area of an apartment back into conceivable shape today and get ready to meet my new students tomorrow!
Life is crazy, people. Cray-cray crazy. Trying my best to roll with the punches!
