Oh hai, bottoms for those tops.
I still haven't found a job for fall and I'm having a pretty tough time with various things this summer so I haven't had a lot to say.
But I have sewn up some bottoms to go with the tops I showed you in my last post so I thought I'd pop in and show 'em off. (You can click through on each photo to flickr for more commentary on the sewing process).
I've made three skirts from the A-Line skirt pattern in the first Sew-U book (after adjusting it to my enlarged size of course).
First with an elephant facing on the outside:
Second with nothing special besides the border-print fabric:
And third with exposed zippers both on the front and inside the side seams:
(The right side seam zipper is functional so I can actually get the skirt on, heh:)
I also put a new waistband on a super simple bias skirt I made last year:
As well as whipping up another version in some black linen-lycra that only took me 2 hours start to finish (BAM!):
I adjusted some jean shorts to fit my enlarged self:
And I made a prototype for a dress I'm calling my Prairie Slip!
I really love it but I need to make the back piece a bit more expansive...altho I do wear this one anyway. It's summer, it's 90 bajillion degrees here, and I can't see the back myself so I guess I don't really care that much! HA! But the next ones I make with more room will be just that titch more comfortable so hopefully I can find some time to sew one up soon.
And hopefully I can get back to some quilting. If it would just stay below 80 degrees for more than an hour at a time... (We've had numerous days in the 100s and 90s, 80 is actually quite pleasant IN COMPARISON but honestly I would give my left nut [if I had one] for a 5-day stretch of 70-degree weather.)

I love these! They look great on you. And I hear you about the miserable heat. I actually looked up when college football season starts not because I care about the sport but because I know it can't be this hot during football. Ugh. Skirts help, though.
Great job on all of those sewing projects! The humidity has been horrible here. I've been talking about how much nicer the 100+ degrees in Vegas are- that's crazy!
All are cute projects but I am loving those shorts! What a super cute mod!
I'm sending positive job energy...
