« Hey look it's a finished quilt! | Main | Oh hai, bottoms for those tops. »

So my 6.5 week teaching job ended yesterday.

And today I sewed two tops!

Another Short Raglan-Sleeve Top

V-neck, short sleeved Renfrew.

(You can click through to Flickr for sewing details should you wish to.)

I actually cut out the fabric for both on Saturday, and started the sewing on one the other night, so it's not QUITE the tour de force it seems. :) (And I've made them both before so no confusing sewing issues to work out.)

I'm going to school tomorrow despite not being on the clock anymore (my friend, their actual teacher, returned from leave for the last day purposely so she can see them off) just so I can really say goodbye to the students. And then I've got two weeks off (unless I can find some temp work, which I both hope for and don't hope for. I mean I REALLY need the money but I would also like a couple weeks off, it's quite the emotional conundrum) before my summer Teaching Assistant position starts up -- did I tell you this already? I'm assisting in a summer honors program for middle schoolers -- Creative Writing in the first session and Sci Fi and Fantasy Writing in the second session. It doesn't pay very well but I hope it'll help my education resume even further and maybe I can make some good contacts out of it. Also one of the goals is to get more tips on pushing your gifted kids since they teach you a lot more about how to help your struggling students than your superstars in education classes...

Well I'm a bit emotionally exhausted right now and since my plans for tonight got cancelled, I think I'll go take a nap. After I get some food since I was so busy sewing that lunchtime just sailed right by! Whoops!

Love those 2 tops! Yay for the teaching assistant position. It will be good for your resume. Will you have time to meet for lunch before you start?

Both tops are cute! Is that camo skull fabric? Oddly cute.

I'm glad you got a summer gig, it sounds like an interesting job.

Good luck!!!!!

I think that teaching job sounds fab! Shame about the money, but it's always better looking for work when in work, right?

AND the tops area great! they fit perfectly. Good job.
