NaBloPoMo 2: A request and another swap.

So hey, I have to ask you something. I think anyone who knows me knows that I have given generously of both my $$$ and my yarn stash to many charitable causes of my crafty friends over the years.

Now I'm going to ask you to return the favor. I would like to give all my 7th graders a gift at the end of this semester. I want to give them each this (ONLY $6) book but given that I have 0 income for the past 3 years (and still have to pay my rent and buy food!) it's going to be rough to swing it on my own.

There are 60 students--ideally I would give one to the 8th graders as well, but that would be 120 students and I'm just assisting with those kids whereas 7th I am their actual teacher--so if I can just get a bunch of my crafty friends to buy one copy of the book each, I'll be well on my way.

Can you spare $6 for me? I have the book on a wishlist, so you can just dump it in your cart and send it from via gift registry if you want. Or if you want to purchase it elsewhere and send it, I can email you my address. Or if you want to paypal me $6 so I can buy a bunch together, lemme know and I'll send you my paypal email address.

I would really appreciate the help. While I have my frustrations, these are a great bunch of kids and MANY of them are very much dependent on school and teachers to bring books into their lives.

SO yeah, there's that.

Oh and look here's another pretty thing I received in a swap that I pathetically have not finished my end of yet. (I'm VERY close but just haven't been able to find that last half hour or so). Kate and I decided to do a mini-quilt exchange and look at the pretty snow flurry I have hanging on my wall now!!!

(She sent me this back in July. Dang, I am slow.)

The installation has grown.

It's taken its place in what is perhaps evolving into a private exhibition.

Doesn't that look like a nice cozy corner?

It has a lovely back as well. :)

OK, off to do some grading. Laters.
