Chicago Quilt Show: Old School Fave
According to the festival, you're allowed to post photos on noncommercial sites as long as you ID the quilt & maker. So I'll show you a few of my faves over the next week or so.
"Untitled" by Helen Remick, Seattle, Washington.

As you can see it's a log cabin (swoon). She calls it a "log cabin, one patch and four patch, roman road". It's handpieced and handquilted, here's a closeup of the quilting.

And here's a somewhat blurry pic of the whole thing / hard to get full quilts sometimes what with the hordes of people viewing them.

I have many log cabins in my quilting future.... Someday. Ergh.

Wow! That's all I can say. That woman is good.
Pretty! I really love that close up of tiny red squares.
I'd try to be more articulate but Miss E. just started screaming. Ack! :)
wow. the patience some people have amazes me... i can't imagine planning the pattern, laying it out, let alone assembling it. wow.
That is BEAUTIFUL. I cannot even imagine how long that took. and it's not machine? DAAAAMN.
