A list of things that are not related.

1) So while hanging with the fam at the wedding recently, I happened to mention my 1500 calorie diet in front of my mom and aunt. Which prompted much hilarity:

Mom: 1500 calories! That's all the ridiculous doctor wanted me to eat while I was pregnant with you!
Aunt: When I was pregnant with Leslie, they put me on appetite suppressants!

Glad to know at least SOME things have changed. But doesn't it remind you of the rights we STILL have to fight for, to decide for ourselves what's right for our bodies & our lives, as women in this ridiculously right-wing world?

2) Friday Night Lights got picked up for an entire season. Which is technically great news since I don't know what I'd do without my eye-candy Tuesday night show. But I hope that doesn't mean "Matt Saracen" won't be home for Christmas because that's when I'm planning to meet him and make him fall in love with me (helllooooooo, he's from Evanston!).

3) When Ellie says "please" (pronounced "peez"), she follows it with "cha-cha". I have decided to adopt this practice myself. I think it's going to make all the difference. "Yes, can I have a tall decaf pumpkin spice latte with skim and no whip, please cha-cha?"

my sister-in-law as put on a strict diet when she was pregnant a few years ago. She was rather indignant since she always had a very fast metabolism...that is until she got pregnant. The doctors were concerned about her weight gain might pose some issues also with her blood pressure. So it's not all ridiculous ...sometimes it there is a good reason too.

that's true...

but that's a totally different situation than when my mom and aunt were pregnant in the 60s. that was based on "women should never get fat!" not on health! :)

You're still all fired up! Very good. How's the campaign against dumbass co-worker with the mistakes? Good I hope...still makes me laugh.

Please, cha-cha! So cute. And I think if I were a Starbucks worker, I would only think you were slightly nuts, but in the endearing, harmless way.

Does it make me pathetic that I cook Tuesday night's dinner on Monday and store it in the fridge so i won't miss any of Friday Night Lights?

If "matt" does indeed fall for you (and come on, how could he not?), will you please bring him to Rhinebeck next year? Peez cha cha?

Um, thank God, my midwife did not subscribe to those views. I gained 60 lbs with JR, and about the same amount with each of the boys. Of course, they were all 50 lb babies. All I ate while pregnant was turkey club sandwiches and ice cream.

See how Regina is using it already? I think you could even start appending "cha-cha" to other things, or using it by itself instead of "bye."

w/my mom's first pregnancy, she was told to gain no more than 2x the baby's expected weight: 2x7pound baby = 14 pounds. bwaa haa haa!
