Man, I wouldn't be caught dead in those shoes.
What, really, is that supposed to mean? It would be OK to be caught wearing them alive? Because...if I was caught dead in them, then I'd be forced to wear them for eternity?
These were the thoughts going through my mind this morning on the 5:20 a.m. train as a much classier dressed girl sat across from me, and halfway to work I thought to myself: "Wow, I am such a schlub compared to her. Her outfit is so 'together.' But at the same time, no fucking way would I ever be caught dead wearing pointy-toed 4-inch heels."

I take it to mean, they are so horribly painful that I wouldn't even take the pain if I were dead and technically couldn't feel it. I have been wearing clogs to work alot lately due to this fact.

Or perhaps, "not even if I had the excuse of being dead, and consequently dressed by someone else and stuffed in a box where you couldn't even see my feet, would I wear those shoes."
But that's just a guess. I'm not a shoe guy.

i understand that to mean that the shoes are so butt ugly, etc. that even if i were dead, and supposedly wouldn't care what was on my feet, i wouldn't wear them. forget about wearing them while i'm breathing and my heart is beating. that's probably what people are thinking when they see my ugly ass shoes.

10.16cm heals probably mean she has major back problems and the balls of her feet are killing her @ the end of the day!!! .. not 2 mention the pain in her calf muscles!!! .. anyone dressed like that shud be taking cabs or have their own personal drivers!!! .. I love comfort and the joys of being a primary school teacher means that comfort comes before vanity and pain!!! .. she's obviously in a job where she doesn't need to walk much during the day, and if she's not then she needs her head examined .. ha!ha!ha! ..
