Why, hello there.

Welcome to Blogtastic December, an event taking place here and here only.

Bean Flare.

There were flurries threatening to land all day.

I said goodbye to the 23 third graders I've been observing all fall. We had pizza and watched Shrek Forever After* and I didn't have to scold anyone very badly or take away any freechoice minutes!

I have boatloads of schoolwork to bang through for the semester finish line and writing this blog post was only like the 89th twenty-second study break of the past few hours.

I gotta get back to it.

*After, of course, having writing workshop and guided reading groups and math.

i love the bean flare and look forward to your month of blogging. maybe i'll try to do the same?

will you return to the same class of kids next semester or do you move to another place?

I will be with a different group/grade/school -- and possibly more than one, depending on what my particular classes require in terms of observation.

(I also observed 6th grade language arts this semester, at a different school, but I wasn't there as many hours so I didn't get to know the kids as well.)

They want you to experience as many different grade levels/types of schools/etc. as possible.

pretty pretty bean flare! school keeps you busy, dude. how did you like third graders?

Third graders scare me a bit, I'm not going to lie. But I'm sure it was better than 6th grade! Middle school seems challenging to me.

You are almost done! xoxo.
