On the tenth and eleventh days of Christmas,
I went to the suburbs. I KNOW. Day 10: christmas with the nephews. Soooooooo exhausting. Can I take a nap for 8 years now? Day 11: crazy consumerism with Sara. That girl really increases the use of my credit cards, I gotta tell you.
And today, on the twelfth day of Christmas, I realized (or was reminded *coughcoughcarrieokecoughcough*) that I never mentioned that the end of shithole year 2008 was also the end of the 365 project!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So glad that thing is over. It's so refreshing to not be forced to break my camera with my face every day!
Here are some highlights, starting with the best picture EVER taken of me, let alone in this project:
Number two:
Number three:
And number four which became my latest banner and apparently everyone thinks has to do with Mary Tyler Moore (BUT IT DOESN"T) a show I have never seen (during the period of time in which people my age might have watched that show, the TV was kept in the closet):
Runners up:
Dad's visit was a huge higlight and totally rejuvenated the project:
These I don't mind:
I was naked in one!
I mean two!!
I don't even remember taking some of these. It did seem to slow the year down in a way, the forced contemplation of each day. I look at some of these and think "WTF, I don't remember THAT. Oh, it was almost a year ago. Oh."
Legs and/or socks were always a good way to get it over with:
Out of a picture here or there developed an entire ode to my couch (it is the most comfortable couch in the universe, I feel very confident in telling you):
I learned how to clone myself, which will be very helpful in getting things done in the future ha ha:
And of course you can view the whole set (or what's left of it online: no comments from the peanut gallery) at your leisure but I would not recommend it.
And then there's always the close-ups:

EVERYBODY enjoyed it more than you did. :) It is ever thus in the
life of the true artist. I think you should do another year.
um, you should totally do another year. you frakking rocked this project, even if you hated it. and you liked it a little. sometimes. ADMIT IT.
I LOVED this project. You've picked out some of my favorites, dude.
I'll miss it.
I too loved this project. I'll be sad not to see your lovely mug everyday...
The shoes in the autumnal leaves is freaking brilliant.
P.s. Your dad is a team PLAYAH!
Girl, you are soooo pretty, those cat eyes, that James Dean thing where you cut your eyes around to the side and semi-scowl...you've got it down! Never, not even when I was 16 could I have carried off your spiky-wild haircut. You rock it. Dad's pretty cute, too! so, yeah, what Carrie said.
You are so photogenic...I don't know why you'd want to stop! I don't think you had a bad shot all year. Wonderful project.
close ups of my face are scary :)
i totally agree with your favorites - awesome shots! i don't ever take baths, so i don't know if a naked SP is in my future...unless i just, you know, get naked! congratulations on finishing!!!
Thanks for a great year, Duff. Okay, the year sucked, but your smirking and grinning mug made each day just a little better for me.
awesome, awesome, awesome.
Okay, how did I ever, ever miss the one of you, your dad and the statue??? It is pure magnificent brilliance! The glory of the sun is in that photo, I swear. I also love the one of you reading on your couch in the "Runners Up" category. The light is perfect and it's just a very sweet picture. Congrats!
I've really enjoyed seeing all your 365 shots this year; some great ones, for sure.
I love it. This almost makes me want to take on this project. Almost. Not quite. Though it's tempting.
I know you're going to whack me for saying this, but, lady, you're lovely. And I know the trials of having to take 70 shots to get one you like even just a little bit, but here you have 365 super cute pictures of yourself! Rock on!
The ones of you and your dad are fantastic. I never saw the one with you guys being statues. Hilarious.
Dude, this is AWESOME. I love the recap, I love these photos. Somehow back in August I developed a Flickr block, but I'm going to go through each and every one of these. Soon. As soon as I remember how to get back to Flickr.
girl, you are so funny. i loved it when your dad appeared in your photos, too. so. much. fun.
I know it was a lot of work for you, but I loved seeing your mug throughout the year, and today's recap.
oh geez, i just loved this retrospective of your 365s! your dad totally cracks me up :) it was great getting to know you on flickr this year!
the recap is awesome. your pics are soooo good, and a bunch of your shots inspired me to try different things, you know? one day i will be able to take mirror pictures that are as good as yours. :)
