If your mom dropping by for an unexpected stay...

isn't enough to get you to clean your bathroom floor, then frankly you have even less motivation than I do and I wasn't sure there was a lower level.

In unrelated news, this afternoon Chicago got a few drops of rain that turned into a "Where the fuck is Noah and that Arc?" situation.

I came home not to my living room, but to geographic terrain. Oh that? That huge mass of water near the south windows? I call that The South Pond. And that current over there? That I call The West River. Ah, the joy of having left all the windows open.

The Floor. Cleaned. And then B&Wed in Photoshop.

I went to the grocery story (more supplies for Mom). The first one? Closed, because the electricity was out. The second? Open. But FLOODED in some sections. How often does your grocery story flood? It's not like it's at basement level.

An apocalyptic few hours, just the way I like to kick off a parental visit!

Well clean up the mess cause your momma's coming! I'm sure it's not that bad... :)

We had a some similar bursts here. I had stopped at Borders under mildly threatening skies and within a minute or two of entering, the rain was pounding the roof and the winds had whipped up to such a degree that people were emerging from the book stacks to gather at the windows. *Torrential* doesn't start to describe it, more like *hurricane*. Then, minutes later, the sun came out.
Hey, did the rain help with the pre-visit cleanup? ;-) Have a nice visit with your Mom.

Nice floor! If this is the end, at least you get to greet the apocalypse with your mom, in a clean house. :)

Oh no! I hope it all worked out by the time she arrived. The floor looks lovely at least!

I hope your mom appreciates what a good daughter you are.

I'm back from Spain and missed your blog while I was gone.
