« Dear Jen, | Main

There are so many things to love about winter.

One being that if you are already a goofy person, it just gives you that many more opportunities to be goofy. Like this girl I saw in my building yesterday. She pulled her hat on. It had a good oh 6-inch-high pompom on top. Given that the average adult hat is at least 6 inches deep, that's a 12-inch hat. Then, with the 6-inch pompom bouncing on top of her head, she then pulled her hood up over it. Hello, the pompom filled up her hood and made it stand straight up. It was soooo funny. She looked hilarious from the back, with a 12-inch hood sticking straight up from her shoulders, as if she had a super long skinny head. Like John Elway's head had been grafted onto the body of a 5'6" girl. Come on, how fun is that? All thanks to Winter!

It's warmed up a little (it was 19F this morning) and there's piles of glorious snow everywhere. Perfect ice skating weather. Ice skating! Another thing to love about winter!

OK I have to get back to my obsessive REwatching of Friday Night Lights in preparation for tonight's new episode. Catch ya later with possibly more thoughts about Winter, or maybe a picture of the flowers someone sent me ("from one single gal to another") which was such a sweet surprise and I kept saying to the receptionist "are you sure you mean ME?" when she called me to come upstairs, or maybe we can talk about how all I want to eat these days is potstickers. If you boil them, they only take three minutes to cook (after the 89 hours it takes for the water to boil), and they are soooooo yummy and delicious. And hello 8 of them are only 250 calories!

p.s. thanks for the muchos complimentos on the new specs. still getting used to them...

oh and p.p.s. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KP! that's what today is to me, your birthday! woot! :)
