Taking Nominations.

Do you know anyone whose stash isn't that big? And/or who maybe can't afford to be out buying expensive yarn?

I am clearing out some stash the real old-fashioned way: random gifts. Similar to ROAK I guess, although I'm not a member.

Send me name & address (or leave a comment saying you have someone and I'll email you and ask for it) and I'll send them some yarn. (Even just a couple skeins of nice sock yarn would be a nice thing to randomly receive, no?

I don't know of anyone, but you are a nice person, girlfriend.

wow, that is such a sweet idea. I can think of someone I know who is about 16 and loves to knit. I will discuss tonight when I see ya!

that's very generous of you.

You are indeed a nice person. Not that I didn't already know that.

I have someone. A relatively new but adventurous and skilled knitter, who has been having to do some budget-tightening of late.

I nominate Tiffany aka stringthing, a college student I killed off in Sock Wars '06. Not only is she on a student's budget, but she's also getting married this year. She's on Blogger at stringthing1987.

I have a friend who is relatively new to knitting, while working an internship (pays crap) and putting herself through school at San Jose State who would greatly appreciate your generosity!

Hey there. I nominate me. I've been working at Target for $7.50 an hour since December. Used to getting a paycheck for $1100 for 2 weeks, now getting a paycheck for $500 for 2 weeks. Very happier, but very poorer. I've been crocheting afghans for my vet to auction off for her animal rescue, Furr Keeps. If you want to send me any yarn, I will put it to good use for the critters. Let me know when you are next coming out to visit the nephews. If I'm not scheduled to work, I'll pick you up at the train station. It would be good to see you. Also, we can then go to Super Target and I'll let you use my 10 percent discount card.

Love, Phyl

My daughter, Heather, has 6 kids. She loves knitting but with the new job change, her budget is not yarn friendly any more.

There's a teacher at a high school in east harlem who teaches her students to knit (in addition to teaching her regularly scheduled academics. She's always looking for yarn donations...
