« So the Bears lost and it's totally depressing and what a downer to end a great weekend. | Main | Dear Jen, »
Ramblings of a Crazy Woman.
Do you ever get really weird ideas in your head? Ideas like "yes I know 6 x 4 is 24, but doesn't it just FEEL like that should be 8 x 4 instead? Yes, I know that 8 x 3 is 24 but I'm saying it FEELS like it should be 8 x 4?"
Don't you love how people always think it's cold where they are and then you think it's cold where you are and then you hear about someone else? Ame came out from New York for the weekend. When she left, New York was about 20 degrees. She spent the weekend in Chicago where it was 0 most of the time and sometimes -2. I called home during the HorriblefuckingnotsuperatallBowl to commiserate with my dad and said "yeah it's like 0 and about -20 windchill" only to get the response "It's -23 here today. That's the actual temperature and I don't even want to know what the windchill is!" Ah, yes, and that's actually kinda warm for my parents, considering they live about 4.5 hours south of where we lived when I was in high school and sometimes it would be -45 in February. Yes, that's NEGATIVE 45 ACTUAL. probably about -60 windchill. BRRRR. That's when I used to leave the house w/ wet hair, and RUNNNNN as fast as I could down the driveway to the school bus and be outside for about 5 seconds total and yet my hair would freeze and I'd be breaking off frozen pieces of hair on the way to school. Nice. (That is not recommended. It is recommended that you just leave your hair alone and let it thaw out and be normal hair again.)
These temperatures are all Farenheit. Celsius is for the birds.
Due to unmentionable computer issues (please don't ask, I'll just start crying), I am without the ability to post pictures, to view flickr, to update anything that's not movable type, or TO LISTEN TO MY iPOD. It's like the world has ended. Enjoying the sounds of silence? Uh NO. I hate that almost as much as I hate the taste of water. And that's A LOT.
I just ate six little oreos from a mini pack. At 40 calories EACH that's 240 calories. (Hence my 6x4 thoughts.) 240 calories of chocolate-y fucking goodness. Manna from heaven. Yum. Oreos, I love you.
Veronica Mars sucked so fucking bad last night. What the fuck has happened to that show.
New Friday Night Lights tonight! Woot! Something to live for.
I watched 12 episodes of House in the last two days to finish up season 2. God that's a lot of depressing horrible illnesses and uncurable plagues and death and nasty nastiness.
But nothing a little "Walk the Line" won't cure. Let me pull out this location's copy of that DVD and get down to it. (Yes, I own multiple copies of that movie. Helllllooooooooooooooooooooooooo what did you expect.)
OK back to the land of misery, boredom and SILENCE and ooooo, I just found $8 in my pants pocket. Free lunch!

Um, is it completely weird that I've had the same thought i/r/t 6x4/8x4? My hair used to freeze when I was waiting for the bus too but I never tried breaking it off. Those were the years when no one wore socks so I had frozen feet too.
VM was bad last night, but I think last week's was worse. So sad.

sweetness to the free lunch! and don't worry in a few days you will be able to have another copy of "walk the line" on your ipod.

See, I knew you hated water and that's why I asked about the beverages.
Uh, didn't watch VM yet.
16 degrees right now without wind chill. That'll be a heat wave for you.

That sucks about your computer. :( Although maybe by the time you get into flickr I'll actually have posted some new pictures....

Friday Night Lights YAY.
And I love finding random money in my pocket.
Also, House was super depressing last night. But MUCH better than last week.
I know what you mean about the temps. I was reading Brainy Lady and she was posting about -20 or something crazy like that...I'm freezing when it's 38 here!

What is this veronica mars show that you are always talking about?
I'm not allowed to even read about other people eating oreos.

Holy moley, that sucks wind. You and the iPod have such a thing going. BUT, I won't ask.
To make you feel better, it's been insanely warm here in CA so come out to visit. Hurry.

Ok the really weird thing is that 8x4 does not seem like it should be 24 to me, but 4x8 does. A lot of a little number as opposed to a small amount of a relatively big number. Does that make any sense at all, or just to me?
And ever since my mom started wintering in FL, weather conversations with her have gone to hell. "It's 5 degrees up here." "It's 85 here." Thanks, mom.

Its kind of wild inside your head. It reminds me of an old Clint Eastwood movie where there is car chase involving Mustangs up and down the hills of San Fran. Woooo!

-45 degrees F is incomprehensible to me. what factor of coldness is that? how much colder is that then say what it is when it's 8 degrees? i can't even wrap my head around that. like once you get to -10 you could just replace the temperature with a sound.
oh man it's fucking "moooooooo" out there.

I love that you hate VM but still watch it on the original air night every week.
And I have to agree- once it gets past a certain point, it's just fucking cold, all the fucking time.

Oh, in that case, I don't feel as bad that I missed VM. Too many shows to keep up with--I'm running way behind...

this post is totally starting my stupid-a** Thursday off with a smile -- thanks!

Uhmmm yeah...no one ever believes me when I tell them just how cold it is...is cold. All I can say is that I'm glad I don't own a house here...it's not nearly so cold in Baltimore and the pipes in Jeff's house burst.
Sorry 'bout the Bears. I was rooting for them too, watching with a bunch of friends from Chicago. It was a sad night. (Insult to injury was that my car wouldn't start afterwards....)

um...you're coming to town (per Jackie's blog) and didn't tell me?
sniff

Have you watched last night's FNL??? Of course I thought of you as soon as Landry came into view. I thougth it was an exceptionally good episode.
I don't think the way your brain works is bizarre at all. Somehow your thought process makes perfect sense to me.
