A Girl's Gotta Have Friends.

Hello, is this not the CUTEST little Scottie Dog Ever?
pup1.jpg

The other night when I showed up at Mary's for Family Supper (a concept we blatantly stole from La SuperEggplant), I thought she was showing me a new toy she had made for Ellie. Nope! It was for me! Woot! I win! Cutest dog ever! Woot! :)

Honestly, I can't even remember what we ate I was so excited to get him home. His flower-y leash and white flower "tail-let" (the tail version of bracelet, no?) are both removable for when he's...you know...feeling frisky. (Which he is not allowed to do until his momma [ahem - Me!] also has reason to feel frisky. So for now he's in sexual quarantine!) As you may have guessed, from his flowery accoutrements, he fits right in here at Chez Duff iin what is euphemistically known as "Boystown."

His eyes are so awesome...it seems like he is always looking at you no matter what angle you're at!

Thanks, Mary! I'm in love!

No quilting progress over the weekend, sadly, as I had guests and several other commitments as well (hello, Tom Jones concert Sunday night). But as a reminder, here are the many items "underway" if they can really all be called that when I am blatantly not working on them.

Listed from closest to finishable on down:

Strippers of the Orient:
No photo because the last one I took was before I finished both quilt tops.

  • piece backing (3 horizontal strips) 1, 2
  • pin baste 1, 2
  • quilt 1, 2
  • bind 1, 2
  • send one away!
  • put the other one on the bed and put the No Patience to rest for a while!

Kaleidoscope Diamonds:

  • Do cuts for first clue that I got when I bought the fabric!!!
  • Do piecing of 2nd clue I got last week! ARGH! already behind!
  • Follow instructions of two more clues
  • backing?
  • pinbaste? gammel? it will depend on what design this is!
  • quilt
  • bind
  • join Strippers on the bed? Or put on shelf and pull out in the fall? We shall see

So much to do. So little fucking time. ARGH.

Does the pup have a name?

It like fabric city over here.

Is that Sit & Knit up in the comments??

That scottie is seriously SO cute. And all of your crafts are inspiring me to make things - too bad that some actual work has rolled in for me and I have less time for artsy stuff! (Or, I'd have more if I'd just stop browsing on the internet/watching TV.)

A) Super-Cute Scottie Dog!
B) The quilts"In-Progress" are looking goodso get on it! (Although I can't really talk. I love to pick out fabric, peice the squares but I tend to stall out at that point.)
C) I am totally in love with the fabric for the Mystery Quilt!

that dog is super cute. it reminds me of my grandpa because there used to be this scottie dog that lived next to him and he loved it so much he would steal it from his neighbors and bring it to his place and play with it. HAH!

Adorable Scottie! Even with the kinda creepy "watching you" eyes.

Once again, I bow to your quilting skillz.

I'm embarrassed to be so late in saying thank you for such a nice write-up of that little guy, and for the compliments in the comments! He was fun to do for you. And on the quilt question, I say, keeper! It's lovely.
