It's a Mystery to Me!
Despite a minor car accident and the best efforts of the weather gods to defeat me, I made it to Minnesota and back in one piece. While I will soon be posting pictures of quilts from the show, I thought you'd rather hear about one of my fabric purchases.
Why look at this gorgeous set of fabrics (Mariko, recognize the two I already bought pieces of?):

What will it be? Well, I don't actually know! It's a mystery by mail kit! You get the fabric and your first "clue" ...and then you get subsequent clues every three weeks. After the 5th clue you will have a finished quilt top!
Shall we take a closer look at the darks? There are 7/8 yards of each of these:

And there are 1/2 yards of each of these "background" (as the clue refers to them) fabrics:

I better get these washed and start following the cutting instructions for clue #1 so I don't fall behind!
Another mystery was this set of yard sculptures (?) somewhere near the Wisconsin/Illinois border. I would have loved to get closer, but after spending many years in small towns, I know much better than to cross a No Trespassing sign on a random dirt road in the middle of nowhere. That's a good way to get yourself shot!

Those are some gorgeous fabs, you dh! And did the accident occur somewhere near those sculptures?

That sounds like a fun little big project :) Almost signed up for a quilting class this weekend but remembered I don't get home early enough to get there in time.

Ooh--pretty fabrics. I'm always tempted by mystery-project-alongs, but I know I would get so far behind....
Glad to hear you're back safe and sound! Let those bus drivers and cabbies worry about the driving. :)

The project sounds very cool. But this accident thing is no good. Zero damage to your person, I hope!!!

I know you don't have comments on Snip for a reason but Strangers with Candy started out as a series on Comedy Central. You can buy the complete series on DVD from Amazon. I can't believe they made a movie from this show! It's on DVD and still no sign of 90210 on DVD. Something is very wrong.
The fabrics for your mystery project are beautiful.

I'm going to recommend that you never let me visit your house ... I'd probably be pilfering in your fabric stash - heh. They are lovely fabrics...makes me want to play too ;-)
