Today was my last day of student teaching.
There were three of us student teachers from my cohort at the same school and our respective grade levels (7th-me, 4th-Zach, 3rd-Cynthia) got together and planned a secret assembly going-away party for us. It was in the auditorium, there were speeches from our cooperating teachers and the principal. My students gave a speech; their students did performances (a band played, some boys danced to Michael Jackson songs and I mean DANCED, some kids sang songs they had composed for the occasion).
My students created an emblem for me and drew it all over--a banner, on a notebook they all wrote me goodbye notes in. Some drew it on their arms!
I haven't even read all the cards they gave me yet as it was already overwhelming enough. I'm so blown away.
And now I have to get back to work on the all the final projects that are due in my portfolio on Tuesday morning! EEK!!! :)

Holy Cow! You were student teaching at our "neighborhood" school option for the kiddo (she starts kindergarten in the fall -- we don't know where yet).
What a lovely group of kids to give you such a nice going-away event!
Those kids are so sweet!!
