I finished a quilt!

I was going to say "another" quilt...and then I figured out this is the first one I've finished since January/December. Whoops. I guess school is actually keeping me busy, eh? (School...and my TV schedule. Heh.)

Anywho, on to the quilt!

Owls Owls, Baby! DONE!

The owls are fussy cut from a flannel so they've got some bonus added texture.

The back is pieced with the leftover blocks and some of the "border" fabrics from the front (as well as bonus elephants).

Owls Owls, Baby! BACK

This pic is a bit blown out so you can really see the quilting. A horizontal/vertical grid overlaid with random diagonals.

Double lines.

I'm super happy with how it turned out.

Bordered, bound 1.

Bordered, bound 2.

Now to finish a knitting swap I was supposed to swap last night. Whoops. And of course all the 97 gajillion other quilts in progress, either in reality or just IN MY MIND.

Oh sugar daddy that will pay the rent and allow me to craft as much as I please...WHERE ARE YOU?!? And what're you waiting for, dude? I'm running out of time here!!

That is an AWESOME quilt, my friend.

Thank you in advance for sending your sugar daddy's brother my way. ;)

So cute! Bonus owls are always a selling point for me.

And granted I don't know squat about quilting, but those random diagonals are so gorgeous to my eye. It really makes your eye move around the piece, just like a good painting :)

Good luck with the sugar daddy - none spotted here either.

That's one fantastic quilt. I love the colors (which kinda match your blog banner photo right now) and the owls. It's so cheerful and happy to look at, but with a certain sophistication too.

i am also waiting for that sugar daddy. let me know if you find one and if yours has a brother for me :) that quilt is awesome! super cute, fun colors, love the owls. do you quilt all of your quilts yourself? what kind of machine do you have? i'm just wondering if you find doing it yourself a bit unwieldy. i had difficulties with my small machine!

Gorgeous! As a newbie quilter I have even more admiration for 'proper' quilters.

Also, I recently googled an ex boyfriend and discovered he's running an investment company and living in Budapest ... totally missed THAT sugar daddy opportunity didn't I? I married a poverty stricken tradesman. Sigh.
