I have frozen shoulder.
Or "the Orthopedic specialist doctor says I have frozen shoulder "and wants me doing very (VERY) aggressive stretching exercises. But the physical therapist said "You're too young for frozen shoulder!" and thinks there is something wrong with my bicep tendon and where it enters the shoulder joint and wants me to do super gentle minor stretching. (Everywhere on the Internet it says you can get it from 40-60. Being that I'm 42, I'm not sure why this would be "too young." Of course, she seemed to not believe I was 42. Does she seriously think I'm going to give the wrong birthdate when I go in for medical care?!?)
Hello I like all my doctors to be on the same page, and really, is that too much to ask? Of course the ortho AND his internist are both out today so it'll be tomorrow at the earliest before I can get any answers. And of course I have nothing better to do than sit around on hold trying to contact doctors and the referral coordinator at Campus Care like I've been doing oh every day for the past three months practically.
Sigh.
But I finished another shawl (yes I can still knit. probably because I barely move my left arm at all when I knit) so, you know, there's that.

(click through to Flickr for more pics and a ravelry link to the pattern if you want)
Test knitting is fun. I'm always so excited if I can find something wrong or confusing to help the pattern designer out. They're always so appreciative. Silly but hey I need ANYTHING I can do that receives positive feedback right now to focus on.

man alive if you don't come up with odd conditions to have. sorry to hear about the shoulder though.
Frozen shoulder? Sounds like something the doc made up. Will a third opinion take another 3 months? If so, start stretching. Or find another PT. Mine's super hot if you feel like coming to visit.
Sorry to hear about the shoulder. That stinks! Mine's been giving me some trouble too although not frozen (yet). Hope you find a good solution for it soon.
The shawl looks great and I LOVE your t-shirt. So cute!
Super hot PT? Now THAT sounds like a plan.
oh dear.
(but that is ridiculous... how can they say such opposite things...)
hope you get unfrozen soon.
Damn, girl. I thought you were, like, 28. Go on with your young-looking self.
Sorry to hear about your shoulder, Carolyn! Will you need any specialized PT, do you think? I had never heard of frozen shoulder before. An answer is better than not knowing what it is, isn't it? Hope you get better soon with those stretches.
