Three FourFive Ways in Which I Currently Suck.
1. I am so tired and worn out from a craptastic week (only three days in!) that I *might* skip the Joseph Arthur concert I have tickets to tomorrow even though I have been dying to see him for FOREVER. Plus the other ticket holder cancelled out on me already.
2. Thursday is nephew #1s birthday and not only have I not see him in months or figured out his presents yet, I missed nephew #2s birthday this summer and although #2s presents have long ago been bought, they have not left my apartment and as far as he knows I didn't get him anything. Boo, Carolyn, boo!
3. I cannot seem to get my act together to prepare a Rock Star costume for a party Saturday night despite making Carrie and Pam send me lists of potential Rock Stars to dress as. The ones on the list that I know HOW to dress as, I have nothing in my closet for. I cannot even buy groceries, how do I expect myself to buy costume clothing? Can I still attend a Huffencooper party costume-less? I'm sure I would be the ONLY costume-less LOSER. Maybe if I bring a couple kegs of beer with me?
4. I have four rolls of Hasselblad film and three rolls of Holga unscanned because I am just apparently way too fucking lazy to do it.
5. I can't count.

Gawdddddddddd....this post helped me remember that it is ONLY Tuesday and a day off is no where in sight. It also reminded me that some holiday called Halloween is around the corner...a fact that I was oblivious to as I am eternally trapped in my office (which has no windows) and completely unaware of what month or season we're in?
Strangely I have been staring at a Joseph Arthur video ALL DAY as I'm working on something for the director of it.

also, it is okay to skip a concert, even if you have the tickets. so say we all.

Also, there must be a rock star you can dress as more or less easily. What are the options?
1) You are not alone on the terrible aunt gift thing. I buy gifts for my nieces/nephew, and they sit and sit and sit, sometimes long enough to qualify as next year's gift. I generally give them their gifts the next time I see them (once a year?) Too young to understand, perhaps, but they love gifts, regardless of the timing.
2) Ripped off-shoulder t-shirt, jeans/leggings. Dramatic make up. Super spiky funky hair. You can be any female rockstar from the 80s. Don't stress out on this one :)
3) Just cause you got tickets doesn't mean you have to go. Not worth the stress - you gotta do what you gotta do.
4) Love the pumpkins. Hang in there.
With some crazy-ass eye makeup, you could do Annie Lennox. And we've got bad band-tshirts to give people who don't come in costume. We're prepared, yo!
And every one of these points could have been written by me. Seriously. I don't even have my costume together yet.
