It's time for you to leave.

So apparently the teeny bit of knittin' that I've been doing has re-energized me as far as the dreaded stash goes and we spent some serious time together discussing where we went wrong and if this relationship is worth fixing.

Things were just at a ridiculous state. And now? Now all this yarn (plus more) is saying Buh-bye!

Let's put it this way:

a) There's 39 balls of All-Seasons Cotton in that picture (15 green, 13 red, 6 pink, 4 blue, 1 lt blue- some of it you can't really see / pile behind piles). And that's just the yarn in three out of nine piles pictured.

b) I gave away 30 balls (THIRTY) of linen drape this morning, have another 10 going out the door on Monday and that STILL leaves 20 balls of it in my stash. Have I ever finished anything out of linen drape? Uh no. Do I like to knit with it? Also no. Have I heard tell that once you have a finished garment it is totally awesome? That would be a yes and is the only explanation for how this relationship has gone on so long despite lack of any fulfillment.

I've finally started loading some stash on to Ravelry / the yarn that's staying... Still have two more storage locations to go, although I have already trimmed those of the stuff that's leaving so at least they're not as bad as they were.

And dang it feels awesome to be lightening my load.

OK off to take a little readin' break before I buckle down and do some quilting this afternoon.

Time for me to do this too, pull out the stash and take a realistic look at it. Sigh.

Why oh why don't I live near you! :) I took pics of all my yarn for ravelry last weekend, but now I need to actually organize it. My sister came over the holidays and I just took out the things I knew I wanted to keep and let her stash shop the rest, so that lightened my load quite a bit!

I hope you're sending those to people to make things for you. That ASC would make an awesome summer blanket. Another ripple?

I was thinking of you last night- saw Juno, and was thinking of the soundtrack purposefully. I didn't realize you were a B&S person, or maybe you're not, and you just became one? I am in love with them, and am depressed that there is nothing new.

You're giving this stuff away? Are you crazy lady?? How you end up with *that much* Rowan yarn sitting around is beyond me. I can't afford to have unknit Rowan sitting around.

I can't imagine being addicted to yarn AND fabric. (you have problems, girl!!!) I commend you for lightening your load.

I don't even know what to say when I see that much yarn all in one place. Better get workin'.

Good job clearing out your stash! I'm not very brave about doing it on my own stash.

fabulous job cleaning out. I just realized that I have not bought any yarn since maryland, that is as close to de-stashing as I can get :)
