What'd you do this weekend?

Tracy and I "Tim Gunn"ed each other's closets. It was truly one of the most hilarious afternoons of my life. To hear someone lobbying to keep something that a) doesn't fit at all, and b) has never been worn in the however many years it's been owned (tags still on!) and c) is a hideous color... So amusing.

I had amazingly yummy chicken kebabs and dill rice at a Middle Eastern restaurant up in the Loyola area and pumpkin pancakes at John's (by DePaul) today, and I worked this afternoon (gross), and now? Now I NEED to be working on a baby quilt. Either that or altering my own internal priorities as my internal priorities and my outward actions? They are in conflict as to me actually getting this thing done when I want to!

I would love a big snowstorm. Maybe next week though, after this issue's deadline is over and I could call in sick.

Screw the quilt. Just get a pile of onesies. Maybe some fabric paint if you're feeling fancy. I can't decide if I'm kidding or not.

Let's see... Last night I saw "No Country for Old Men" and today I sewed pillowcases for Xmas presents. A good mix, no?

I made pink pancakes this morning, from Jessica Seinfeld's fool-the-kids cookbook--they have beets. My older wasn't fooled, or swayed by their pinkness, his favorite color. My younger gobbled them up, though, so not a total loss.

Great idea on Gunning the closet. I am largely bothered by his show, but I DO like his criteria that the clothes in our closet should 1. be soul stirring and 2. make us look good.

An acquaintance had a baby, and I feel I should make her a dinner, since prepared food was one of the most helpful things I received after baby #2, but I'm feeling grudging and slow, so I empathize with your delays on the quilt.
