Sausage is good food.

I don't know what got into me this weekend, but I randomly did some cookin', even to the point of forgetting I had dinner plans and winding up with lots and lots of leftovers when I realized I better not eat a full serving.

First I made Gumbo. Calm yourselves, it's not authentic gumbo, didn't make a roux, no file spice, etc., made it in the slow cooker. But it still tastes damn good. And it has Okra! Good for you food. (Pardon the badly lit photo, just couldn't be bothered...)

Then sunday morning I figured I needed nourishment for the long day of work I had ahead of me (no joke in the office all afternoon) so I whipped up some chorizo scrambled eggs. Yum, chorizo.

(Again I could not be bothered to put the food somewhere the picture would turn out decent. ah well.) Of course turns out 3-egg scrambled eggs with chorizo is way too much food for me. Good thing it tastes delish cold the next day! Bonus.

And I finished the quilting on the mini quilt, now just need to sew the back of the binding down.

The magenta off to the left is the binding. I decided just to do wavy lines, some braided, some random. Trying to get more comfortable with free motion / the darning foot.

The yellow triangle on the left is an attempt at built in "hanging sleeve" deals in the corners. I'll let you know if it works after I get the binding sewn down.

To my knowledge, I've never eaten okra. I lead a sheltered life.

Great, now I have to go to the kitchen and have some kind of breakfast. The quilting is beautiful! But is that a glass of water there?
