Who You Should Be Reading Instead of Me. Or "Would I Steer You Wrong?"

If you aren't already, you need to be reading my friend Megan's blog. I went to the Hideout last night to listen to her read the most amazing, hilarious, yet poignant story ever. A story in which a Bon Jovi song helped someone give in to love. And her friend Jeremy who read with her? Yum. This is the same Megan who wrote the lovely New Orleans brass band story I linked to some time ago, and here it is again.

Also reading last night was Elizabeth Crane, author of several short story collections, whose blog is the #1 place for Federline analysis, as well as many other fun items.

My friend Ginger who occasionally writes about what she reads is now writing other stuff as well: tantalizing snippets from her creative writing class, pictures, brain teasers, etc.

My friend Alice who, despite rumors to the contrary, does indeed blog sent out an amazing backtack parcel. And received a really neat one in return. Lovely stuff there!!

Recommended by Jennifer Garrett in her 100 Blogs in 100 Days project, I've lately been reading Facetiously Me, where the posts are all lovely little prose poems. I'm also enjoying her music recommendations.

It is too bad that, as far as I can find in my meager google searches, Lauren Pesca doesn't have a blog, because her story last night was HILARIOUS.

Coming soon:

  • A updated readin' post. ('Bout time, yo.)
  • A(nother) finally finished object. (What!? No! It can't be!)
  • A report on how I've lost my Indie film Mojo and I'm not sure I want it back after this.
  • Two neighborhood photos I've been meaning to take for months now.
  • The usual whining & complaining.

Lots to look forward to!

I was *just* wondering how Ginger was doing -- how weird is that? I guess it was last week, but still.

I blush. :)

So how did you know that work is painfully slow here lately, leaving me lots of time to browse blogs and in need of new things to read? Crazy psychic abilities!

Oooooh, publicity from a well-read blogger! Thanks! But, oh, the pressure . . .

Thank you for sending people my way! And coming out last Sunday! And for the links for new folks to ccheck out.

I think it's always the songs that make us give in to love. And give up love. Or take a new job or move to a new city or whatever. Like, Here is my life via the songs that pushed me to make the decision. Like chapter titles or something.

AND ... as for Lauren: the first two weeks of April, ten days straight, Serendipity does 2d Story at the Webster Wine bar, where you go and drink wine and listen to Lauren and me and some fifteen other people tell stories like that for ten days (you don't have to stay all ten. We don't lock you up) and after that, it's going monthly. SO. I'll let you know when that's coming closer, and in the meantime, I'll get on Lauren's ass about blogging. You're right: she should be.
