Things to Think About from Paste #30
Songs I'm Diggin' off the Sampler:
Song by song.
Tunes to Think About:
- LCD Soundsystem "Sound of Silver"
- Sean Hayes "Big Black Hole and the Little Baby Star"
- Wynton Marsalis "From the Plantation to the Penitentiary"
- Vega4 - songs "Traffic Jam" and "Life Is Beautiful" (already have a single I like)
- Brandi Carlile "The Story" particularly "Josephine"
- Joseph Arthur & the Lonely Astronauts "Let's Just Be" (haven't even worn out Nuclear Daydream yet; forgot they were putting out another one licketysplit!)
- I'm From Barcelona "Let Me Introduce My Friends" (have heard alot about this one, think I might have a single already)
Tunes Already Bought:
- Ted Leo & the Pharmacists "Living with the Living" (like)
- Amy Winehouse "Back to Black" (haven't listened)
- Josh Rouse/Paz Suay "She's Spanish, I'm American" (like)
Flicks:
- "Son of Rainbow" - comedy about two english boys in elementary school profoundly affected by Stallone's "First Blood." come on! how hilarious does that sound! I loved that movie!
- "After the Wedding" - stars Mads Mikkelsen, the hottest actor in the Clive Owen/Keira Knightley "King Arthur". And by "hot" I mean H-O-T.
I don't get it: Kings of Leon.
Great quote from the editor's letter:
"That's what great music can do, particularly when experienced live in a communal setting -- even when you don't know a soul. It can shake loose life's tresses and force you to live in a wonderful moment."
